“Postgraduate Micro-Credentials for Food Security and Climate Change”, acronymed PMC FSCC, is a pioneering initiative funded under the ERASMUS-EDU-2023-CBHE call, specifically falling under ERASMUS-EDU-2023-CBHE-STRAND-2 (Project number 101128555). This project operates under the ERASMUS-LS type of action and is serviced by EACEA/A/04. With a duration spanning 36 months, from December 2023 to November 2026, PMC FSCC aims to address the critical challenges of food security and climate change through the development and delivery of tailored short-term courses via micro-credentials. Led by Kasetsart University in collaboration with esteemed partners in Southeast Asia and Europe, this initiative harnesses digital technologies to empower individuals to make tangible impacts on global issues. Through rigorous needs assessments, stakeholder consultations, and the establishment of robust quality assurance mechanisms, PMC FSCC endeavours to create lasting change and contribute to sustainable development in the agriculture sector.
The target of the project is multifaceted. Primarily, it aims to provide accessible and flexible educational opportunities to address the challenges of food security and climate change. This includes targeting university students and professionals interested in FSCC-related studies who may need more time or resources to pursue traditional degree programs. Additionally, the project aims to contribute to broader initiatives such as the European Commission’s priorities on the Green Deal and digital transformation. It also seeks to support the commitments made by member countries for the Paris Conference on Climate Change and address food security challenges within the ASEAN integrated market. Ultimately, the project aims to empower individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to positively impact global issues while meeting the demands of the labour market.
